Upgrading pilot lines for the production of bionanoproducts

Bio-based products can make the economy more sustainable and lower its dependence on increasingly expensive and finite fossil and mineral resources, while also working on climate change mitigation. For this reason, the EU has declared the bio-based products sector to be a priority area with high potential for future growth, reindustrialization, and addressing societal challenges.

Upgrading of pilot lines for nano-additives and raw materials extraction

In Bionanopolys project, one of the objectives of is to upgrade the pilot lines concerning the extraction of raw materials from biomass and the production of nano-additives (Workpackage 3). These pilot plants are part of the Network 1 and once upgraded, they will propose their services in the Bionanopolys OITB.

The Bionanopolys SEP

An Open Innovation Test Bed (OITB) or Open Innovation Ecosystem is a set of entities, providing common access to physical facilities, capabilities and a wide range of services in a specific field of competence. The objective is to assist Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), large enterprises and other stakeholders to bring new innovative materials, products, processes and services closer to the market, “TRL 7” (Technology Readiness Level), within the reach of companies and users.
